Alkavare chapel

Mining operations were begun at this site in the 17^th century, but it was not until well after they had ceased that a chapel was erected here for the local Sámi. It is still used for yearly services, and is from time to time employed by hikers as a shelter. There are usually boats in more or less usable condition down at the outflow of Miellädno for visitors arriving from the west.
